Belle Noire after performing at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, CA.

San Jose’s Belle Noire have spent 2 years battling setbacks and quietly putting together their debut full-length album. We met with the guys before a show with Armor For Sleep to get an update on their release and talk about their DIY attitude.

CPF: How did you guys get started? I’ve heard there’s a story about Craigslist.

(Mike- Guitar) It all started in Sal’s parents garage. He and I started jamming without any major expectations.

(Joey – Vocals/Guitar) They were an instrumental band when I found their Craigslist ad. Talks were good and they sent me these really rough demos. (more…)

AOTM: December – No Tide

No Tide

No Tide is the newest and most exciting pop-punk act to come out of Nebraska in quite some time. In late June, No Tide released their first LP Death Of The Sun with Take This To Heart Records and proved themselves to be a must-see band in the pop-punk genre. We got a hold of Vocalist/Guitarist Will Conner to get to know a little bit more about No Tide and what plans they have for 2016. Please enjoy our December Artist of the Month!

CPF: So 5 months in, how does it feel to have your first album released?

Will Conner: It’s awesome. It’s been kind of a long time coming putting out our first LP. (more…)

AOTM: November – Giants At Large

giants-at-largeno-text

Giants At Large is a four-piece pop/punk/rock outfit from Long Island, NY. They’ve been around the scene for nearly five years and have toured the East coast extensively.

I had the pleasure of seeing Giants At Large for the first time back in the fall of 2012 when their album Doubt had just been released. They were touring with the now defunct, We Still Dream, and were playing a show in Pontiac, MI (about five miles from where I lived). It was a small, intimate show that gave me the opportunity to talk with each of the band members of Giant At Large and We Still Dream. We hit it off right away as we talked about the pop-punk scene and tour life. (more…)

make your move

Rick Pascoe – Bass Guitar/Lead Vocals
Aaron Fandino – Rhythm Guitar/Backup Vocals
Justen Snow – Drums/Backup Vocals
Keith Shinn – Lead Guitar

Make Your Move officially formed in summer of 2014 in Detroit, MI. Before then, they met and have grown as a band through the online social media sites of MySpace and Craigslist. Right off the bat, they found out they shared the same love for pop-punk music and had the musical background and chemistry to solidify themselves as a great 4-piece pop/rock band. In the Fall of 2014, after the official lineup was formed, they recorded their first EP: City Lights and Summer Nights. After the release of tracks Red Light Life & Miles In Between they played their first show at the Shelter in Detroit in July, 2015.
