Make Your Move officially formed in summer of 2014 in Detroit, MI. Before then, they met and have grown as a band through the online social media sites of MySpace and Craigslist. Right off the bat, they found out they shared the same love for pop-punk music and had the musical background and chemistry to solidify themselves as a great 4-piece pop/rock band. In the Fall of 2014, after the official lineup was formed, they recorded their first EP: City Lights and Summer Nights. After the release of tracks Red Light Life & Miles In Between they played their first show at the Shelter in Detroit in July, 2015.

We first took interest in Make Your Move because of their traditional pop-punk sound, but found ourselves being drawn to how they effortlessly blend several elements of the genre into one addictingly catchy act . They combine the melodies of early 2000’s artists with the intensity and upbeat nature of modern pop-punk artists such as All Time Low and Hit The Lights. They pay homage to each era of the genre and differentiate themselves with rapid guitar work and creative drum beats. Their new album (yet to be released) displays a great variety of radio-friendly tracks that are sure to strike a chord with any fan of the genre.

Away from the music, each member keeps themselves plenty busy. Keith Shinn works and goes to school while relieving stress by playing Xbox and riding his motorcycle. Justen Snow lives for the cinema when he’s not installing cable for AT&T full time. You can always find him playing retro Mario games and enjoying a beer. Rick Pascoe is a die hard Red Wings fan who spends his time perusing YouTube for vocal covers and consuming just enough alcohol for him to question his daily decisions. Aaron Fandino is the ‘Sweet Lou‘ of the group. He spends his commute playing the ukulele when he can and is the self proclaimed “#1 Filipino hockey fan.”

Moving forward, the band has quite a full plate. With more shows in our near future, they are also currently in the process of setting up their CD release show. The actual release is TBA, but will likely be late this Fall, with October being the most likely possibility. After the release they will be hitting the road to promote their album and will be scheduling regional tours. Be sure to keep up-to-date with their announcements on Facebook and Bandcamp
